BE A VOLUNTEER RACE MAKER!
Could you marshal at the end of your road? Get a school or community group to host a water station? Help at the race village to create an exciting atmosphere?
Volunteer Race Makers are what makes the Frome Half Marathon unique. Race day sees Frome throw open its doors and welcome runners from around the south west and the rest of the UK, all powered by volunteers.
As one of the biggest fundraising days for local charities and for more than 1,000 ordinary people achieving extraordinary things, could you help to make it all happen?
How could you get involved?
We need individuals or groups to help with each of:
- Marshals on the race route
- Water stations on the race route
- Enquiries and runner registration
- Baggage drop teams
- Medal and goody bag givers
Training and briefing will be given for all roles. We’ll ask you to be available on Wednesday 4 July to collect your briefing documents, Race Maker t-shirt and high-visibility safety jacket, and available on race day, Sunday 15 July from 8.00am – 2pm (although most roles will start later and finisher earlier).
What do you get in return?
Individuals receive a £10 gift card to spend with one of our high street partners, or if you organise a group to help with an area of the event, your group, school, workplace or nominated charity will receive an equivalent donation on behalf of each person who volunteers.
We’ll also make sure you have a day you won’t forget, with food and drink supplied at your briefing session and on race day.
