    • To enter the 10K event, you must be at least 15 years old on race day.
    • To enter the 5K event, you must be at least 11 years old on race day.
    • There is no lower age limit for the Junior 1K event but athletes should be under 16.
  • Can I take part in a wheelchair?

We are sorry, no, not in the half marathon and 10K events. The course is hilly and many of the descents are too steep for wheelchair athletes. Our insurance will not cover wheelchair entries in the half marathon and 10K. We welcome entries in the 5K from wheelchair athletes. The Junior 1K event is also open to wheelchair athletes.

  • What time do the races start?

The half marathon, 10K and 5K events all start together at 10:00 am.
The Junior 1K event starts at 10:15 am

  • Where is the Headquarters/Race Village for the event?

The Headquarters is located at Frome Town Football Ground, Badgers Hill, Frome BA11 2EH.

  • Can I enter on Race Day?

Not for the senior events, no. Entries for the half marathon, 10K and 5K close on 9th July and no entries will be accepted after that date, including on race day.

N.B. If you want to enter the 1K junior event, you can ONLY register on race day at the tent marked ‘Junior Event’ in the Race Village.

  • Can I get a refund if I cannot take part?

Sorry, no. There are no refunds. We do not keep the Registration fees: they are given to charity.

  • Can I defer my place to the next year?

    No, sorry.

  • Can I transfer my number to someone else?

    No, sorry.

  • How do I get my Race Pack?

If your entry is received up to two weeks before Race Day your race pack will be posted out to you. If your entry is received between 1st and 9th July you will need to collect your race pack in the race village on the day. Please come to the Registration desk between 8am and 9.30am.

Race packs will contain your number, your race chip and useful information about the event and day itself. It is important that you check that we have received your entry via our ‘check your entry’ page on the website.

If you have any queries about your entry, please email contact@fromehalfmarathon.co.uk.

  • What do I do if I haven’t received my Race Pack?

The Race Packs will be sent out 2 weeks before the event.

If you have not received your pack within 10 days of the event, please contact us at contact@fromehalfmarathon.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve any issues.
If you entered later than this, please collect your race pack from the Registration Desk at Race HQ.

  • How can I get there?

If you plan to arrive the day before the event, then you have the choice between car and public transport (bus and train). If you are planning to arrive on the day itself, then car is the best option. The buses and trains do not operate early enough to get you to Frome in time for the start on the day. For places to stay and eat, see our Visit Frome page.

  • Where can I park my car?

There is a designated race car park at The Cricket Club, Rodden Road, Frome which is well signed as you approach. Please don’t try to park at the Frome Football Club or on the roads surrounding it as you will be blocking the race route and potentially causing an obstruction to local residents.

  • Are there any changing facilities?

There are some changing and showering facilities at the Race Village inside race HQ.

  • Where can I keep my baggage?

There is a staffed, secure baggage area in race HQ. Please make sure you use the label in your Race Pack. You can retrieve your bag on production of your race number.

  • Are there timing pens at the start?

No. With the three distances all starting at the same time, this is impossible.

  • Will there be race pacers?

No. The route is very hilly and challenging; pacers would not be able to offer reliable pacing from which you could benefit.

The race is run on closed roads, which means cyclists are not allowed on the route. Any runner seen to be accompanied by a cyclist for pacing or other purposes will be disqualified.

  • Can I run with headphones/earpieces/music?

No. Runners with headphones are a danger to themselves and others taking part in the event. You may be disqualified from the event if you are seen wearing headphones while taking part.

  • What is the medical support for the event?

The event is covered medically according to the UK Athletic’s Guidelines and the service is provided by My Skills For Life Ltd.

The marshalls will help you if you are in need of medical attention during the race and there are 3 mobile medical attendants out on the course.

  • Is there a cut off time?

There is a 3 hour cut off time for all three events. If you are still out on the course after this time, the sweep vehicle will ask you if you wish to continue, which will be at your own risk. The sweep vehicle will also be able to return you to the Race Village if you think you cannot complete the course.

  • When and where do I get my results and times?

Timing chips provide accurate results for all entrants and are available immediately after the finish in the results tent in the Race Village.  Full results will be published on our website on the day of the event. They will also be published in the Frome Standard on the Thursday following the event.
